UPPER DUBLIN >> The Upper Dublin Public Library has named Laurie Crittenden and Kathi Maring as its 2018 volunteers of the year and Jeffrey Fishman, Naomi Gewirtzman, Angelina Han, Victoria Hoffner and Ashley Kunkel as its teen volunteers of the year.
Crittenden, of Fort Washington, is the driving force behind the library’s popular Girls Who Code program.
Maring, of Blue Bell, a former school librarian, has been sharing her wealth of library knowledge with Upper Dublin Library for nearly 20 years. She started out as an employee and upon her retirement in 2007 continued her commitment to the library as a volunteer in the Technical Services Department.
The teen volunteers of the year are all Upper Dublin High School seniors and have been volunteering at the library as a group since they were in middle school and have been instrumental in the increased number of programs the library has been able to offer for elementary aged students.
The awards were presented April 19 at the annual Upper Dublin Public Library Volunteer Luncheon.
