DUI >> Gerard G. Pacropis, 66, of the 300 block of Belmont Avenue, is being charged with driving under the influence after he was stopped Aug. 16 when police observed him riding his moped and swerving in and out of lanes near Belmont Avenue at North Ridge Avenue and then striking the curb, police said. Pacropis had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath and his speech was slurred, and after failing sobriety tests, he refused a blood test, police said.
THEFT >> A package containing a TV valued at $299 was stolen Aug. 20 from outside a home in the 200 block of South Main Street, police said. The package had been delivered by Walmart and left in front of the home, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS >> Edward P. Madden, 61, of the 1400 block of Dillon Road, was cited for public drunkenness Aug. 20 after police responded for a report of an intoxicated person on a bench by Weavers Way, police said. Madden was unable to stand and he smelled of alcohol, and he was transported to the station and lodged until sober, police said.
PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS >> Jamieson Denzien, 23, of the unit block of North Main Street, was cited for public drunkenness Aug. 21 after police observed him passed out on the sidewalk on North Main Street, police said. He had a strong odor of alcohol on him and was very uncooperative, and he was taken to the station and housed until sober, police said.
