To the Editor:
I am writing to ask every voter in the Pennsylvania 61st State House District to vote for Liz Hanbidge for state representative on Nov. 6.
For the last 18 years, the residents of the 61st have been represented by Kate Harper. The 61st includes parts of Whitpain, parts of Lower Gwynedd, Towamencin, North Wales and Upper Gwynedd.
Liz graduated from Penn and then attended Harvard University and received a graduate degree in psychology. A law degree followed at the University of Wisconsin.
Liz came home to Blue Bell (Whitpain Township) and opened up her own small legal practice serving two, large, underserved communities: single mothers and domestic abuse survivors. Liz often talks about the stories she has heard throughout her career and how these stories helped shape her view.
At this time, Liz also started work on a PhD. The course of study is Child Psychology and the Law. During Liz’s work with single mothers, the plight of the children she was working with impacted her greatly — these children became another passion for Liz.
Liz continues to serve the community and has decided to fight for our values by running for state representative. Liz will work to ensure that our local public schools remain strong, that taxpayer dollars are invested wisely and that teachers are valued.
Liz will defend our access to affordable health care. She will protect access to Medicaid for our seniors and will steadfastly defend a women’s right to safe reproductive health care.
Liz will be an advocate for common sense gun control across the commonwealth. She will fight to expand comprehensive universal background checks and will support the authority of municipalities to enact their own gun laws without legal threat from the NRA.
It’s time for new ideas and new representation in Harrisburg for residents of the 61st. Please join me on Nov. 6 and vote for Liz Hanbidge.
