THEFT — Tanisha Y. Simpson-Andrews, 27, of North 48thStreet, Philadelphia, was charged July 11 with theft by deception, theft, receiving stolen property and retail theft at Primark in the Willow Grove Park mall, police said.

RETAIL THEFT — Rahiem J. Byrd, 38, of West Lehigh Avenue, Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property July 11 at the Apple store in the Willow Grove Park mall, police said.

ASSAULT — Christopher J. McNair, 30, of East Main Street, Lansdale, was charged with simple assault and harassment July 12 at Woodland Road and East Avenue, police said.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — Howard H. McConnell III, 67, of Jacksonville Road, Hatboro, was charged July 14 with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness in the 2500 block of Moreland Road, police said.

RETAIL THEFT — Joseph Bey, 28, of Rhawn Street, Philadelphia, was charged July 14 with retail theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief at Macy’s in the Willow Grove Park mall, police said.

RETAIL THEFT — Richard Carrington Lytle, 20, of Mayland Street, Philadelphia, was charged July 17 with retail theft and receiving stolen property at Macy’s in the Willow Grove Park mall, police said.

ASSAULT — Timothy D. Lee, 31, of Tyson Avenue, Glenside, was charged July 9 with simple assault and harassment in the 500 block of Tyson, police said.

HARASSMENT — Gloria Harpel, 32, of Franklin Avenue, Willow Grove, was charged July 23 with harassment and disorderly conduct in the 1300 block of Easton Road, police said.

DUI — Carole Meckling, 57, of Greenwood Avenue, Jenkintown, was charged June 27 with driving under the influence, a lane violation and restriction on alcoholic beverages, following a traffic stop in the 900 block of Meetinghouse Road, police said.

RETAIL THEFT — Isaac Jean-Baptiste, 24, of Knorr Street, Philadelphia, was charged June 25 with retail theft and receiving stolen property at Target, police said.

POSSESSION — Zairre C. Hamilton, 22, of North Easton Road, Glenside, was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia, after being stopped May 11 in the 1300 block of Easton Road, police said.

POSSESSION — Robert L. Jackson, 30, of Fernon Street, Philadelphia, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, no registration and windshield obstructions, following a traffic stop May 25 at Susquehanna and Bradfield roads, police said.

ASSAULT — Erica M. Matyok, 30, of North Main Street, Ambler, was charged July 7 with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, false ID to law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia, after being stopped at Bradfield Road and Heston Street, police said.

POSSESSION — Herbert T. Liles, 55, of Robinson Avenue, Willow Grove, was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia, altered plates, driving with a suspended license and a bumper violation, following a traffic stop May 24 at Moreland and Easton roads, police said.

DUI — Brandon Smith, 48, of Clearview Avenue, Willow Grove, was charged with driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance, following a traffic stop June 17 at Easton and Susquehanna roads, police said.

Cheltenham

ATTEMPTED MURDER — Martin Pollock, 60, of the 7900 block of Jenkintown Road, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, propulsion of missiles onto the highway and firing into an occupied structure, after he discharged one round from a shotgun into a vehicle passing by in the 7900 block at 5:56 p.m. July 22, police said. The round struck a little girl in the backseat who suffered bodily injury, police said. Pollock had previously yelled at the driver of the same vehicle before for driving too fast, police said.

THEFT — A white male in his 20s, with black hair and a goatee, wearing a white tank top, dark shorts and black and white sneakers, was observed reaching into the open window of a vehicle parked at Dunkin Donuts, 230 S. Easton Road, and stealing a handicapped placard at 10:57 a.m. July 22, police said.

RETAIL THEFT — Robert Franklin, 68, of the 3100 block of North Croskey Street, Philadelphia, was cited for retail theft at 11:20 a.m. July 22 at Shop Rite, 2471 Cheltenham Ave., after taking $99. 91 worth of goods, police said. He also was taken into custody on an active Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department warrant, police said. 

THEFTS — A vehicle parked at the Melrose Park Train Station, 880 Valley Road, was found at 4:50 p.m. July 22 with the rear passenger window broken out and eyeglasses taken, police said. Six other vehicles parked at the station were discovered broken into, with items taken from some, police said. Another vehicle parked at the station was discovered at 7 a.m. the next morning with the passenger side window broken out and change taken, police said. 

THEFT — A wallet containing credit and debit cards was reported stolen at 9:32 a.m. July 23 from a vehicle in the 2100 block of West Cheltenham Avenue, police said. One debit card had been used at several locations, police said.

RETAIL THEFT — Dontae Deloatch, 25, of the 200 block of Crawford Avenue, Yeadon, was charged with retail theft after taking $399 in goods from Home Depot, 7690 Washington Lane, at 10:39 a.m. July 23, police said.

BURGLARY — An unoccupied home in the 7800 block of Haines Road was discovered broken into at 7:17 p.m. July 23, and the copper piping was taken, police said.

THEFT — Joshua Grier, 27, of the 200 block of East Haines Street, Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft after taking $216.47 worth of goods from Rite Aid, 1401 W. Cheltenham Ave., at 12:20 a.m. July 24, police said.

THEFT — An E-ZPass transponder and change were reported missing at 5:19 a.m. July 24 from an unlocked vehicle in the 900 block of Valley Road, police said. Another vehicle was rummaged through and change taken, police said.

FRAUD — A resident reported July 24 that three fraudulent charges, totaling $903.89, were made to the victim’s credit card June 24, police said.

THEFT — A black female with short purple hair, wearing a purple shirt and white pants, stole a wallet from a customer in a checkout line at Target, 2450 Shoppers Lane, at 1:49 p.m. July 24 and left the parking lot in a white SUV, police said.

FRAUD — A customer at Home Depot, 7690 Washington Lane, reported at 7:35 p.m. July 24 purchasing a gift card from an unknown male that turned out to have a zero balance, police said.

WEAPONS CHARGE — Kyisheen Sanders, 19, of the 8300 block of Beech Tree Drive, Elkins Park, was taken into custody at his home at 4:23 a.m. July 25, when police executed a search warrant and found him in possession of a firearm, marijuana and paraphernalia, police said. The handgun was recovered without incident and Sanders was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm without a license, police said.

WARRANT — Hasan Gordon, 35, of the 5400 block of West Berks Street, Philadelphia, was taken into custody at 8:30 a.m. July 25 in the 400 block of Cheltenham Avenue on a Philadelphia warrant for violation of a PFA, police said.

FRAUD — A customer at Target, 2450 Shoppers Lane, reported at 3:45 p.m. July 25 being scammed out of $120 in exchange for useless gift cards by a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, 6 feet tall, medium build, with a beard, wearing a blue button-down shirt, jeans and sneakers, police said.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY — An apartment in the 7700 block of Washington Lane was found at 9:45 a.m. July 26 with the front door damaged, police said. It appeared an attempt was made to remove the doorknob overnight, police said.

THEFT — A customer at Wells Fargo, 2401 W. Cheltenham Ave., reported at 1:40 p.m. July 26 that money had been stolen from the victim’s bank account, police said. The victim believed an unknown person used the ATM at the bank immediately after the victim to access the account, police said.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY — An attempt was made to pry open the rear door of a home with a screwdriver like tool in the 1100 block of Greenwood Avenue between May 1 and July 26, police said.

WEAPONS CHARGE — Damion Vines, 42, of the 13000 block of Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, was charged with carrying a firearm without a license after he was stopped at 11:18 p.m. July 27 at a DUI checkpoint in the 8200 block of Old York Road and a gun was found in his vehicle, police said. DUI charges are pending a blood test, police said.

BURGLARY — Cory Ringkamp, 31, of the 400 block of East Phil Ellena Street, Philadelphia, was charged with burglary, possession of an instrument of crime, criminal trespass, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and contempt for violation of a PFA, after he attempted to break into the home of an ex-girlfriend in the 7600 block of Williams Way at 1:55 a.m. July 27, police said. Ringkamp allegedly broke the front door frame and was found in possession of a crowbar, police said.

BURGLARY — A home in the 300 block of Rices Mill Road was found burglarized at 3:39 p.m. July 27, and a refrigerator and copper piping were taken, police said.

THEFT — A male sold Visa gift cards that had no value at 7:24 p.m. July 27 to a customer at Marshall’s, 2401 W. Cheltenham Ave., police said. An investigation is ongoing.

RETAIL THEFT — Charles Sease, 31, of the 2000 block of Bellmore Avenue, Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft at 11:02 p.m. July 27 after taking $202.34 in goods from Shop Rite, 2471 W. Cheltenham Ave., police said.

FRAUD — A resident reported July 28 that a check had been intercepted in the mail and the dollar amount and name changed, and it was cashed for a higher dollar amount, police said.

RETAIL THEFT — A male stole items from behind the counter at Wawa, 8250 Limekiln Pike, at 5:10 p.m. July 28, police said.

VEHICLE THEFT — A 2005 Kawasaki dirt bike was reported stolen at 5:15 p.m. July 28 from a garage in the 1100 block of Stratford Avenue, police said.

CYCLE THEFT — A 2007 Honda motorcycle was reported missing at 8:50 p.m. July 28 following an accident in the 900 block of Valley Road, police said.

Jenkintown

SCAM — A resident reported July 13 applying for a loan online with a company named E-Loan and sending $300 for a down payment, police said. The victim was told the loan could not be processed due to system error and was asked to send more money, at which point she contacted police, police said.

CHARGES PENDING — Charges of driving under the influence are pending against Zakiyah Hudson, 21, of the 200 block of Comly Street, Philadelphia, following a traffic stop for careless driving at 1:47 a.m. July 13 in the unit block of York Road, police said. He was transported to Holy Redeemer Hospital for a blood test and charges are pending the results, police said.

ASSAULT — Aristide Caruso, 60, of the 6000 block of Michael Drive, Bensalem, was charged with assault and harassment following a domestic incident at 8:33 p.m. July 21 in the 200 block of Hillside Avenue, police said.
