Join Scouts BSA Troops 541 and 542 on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 9 a.m. for a challenging and fun 5.42K trail run and walk in Fort Washington State Park, 43 W. Mill Road, Flourtown, Pa. The route goes through Fort Washington State Park and along the Wissahickon Creek Green Ribbon Trail. Participants will follow the Wissahickon Creek over the old Reading Rail road bridge to historic Militia Hill and back. The course consists of well-marked dirt and asphalt trails in shaded, wooded areas of the State Park.
Cost of the event is $25 for runners and walkers if registered by Oct. 1, and $30 after that date including on race day. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. and the race starts promptly at 9 a.m. Participants will receive refreshments and an Itec fall trail run race shirt. Prizes will be awarded to top overall male/female race finishers and overall age group winners in the following brackets: Ages 1-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+.
