SPRINGFIELD — Authorities have released their findings after three members of a family found dead inside their home on Nov. 18.
Three family members were found dead by Springfield Township Police on Nov. 18 in their Erdenheim residence following a requested wellness check.
The individuals were identified by authorities as Robert McIntyre, 71, his wife Sheila Dolan, 71; and their daughter Julia McIntyre, 27.
Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Springfield Township Police Chief Michael E. Pitkow announced Thursday that an investigation revealed that the manner of death for Robert McIntyre and Sheila Dolan was homicide.
The manner of death for Julia McIntyre was determined to be suicide, police said.
Additionally, the Montgomery County Coroner's Office found the cause of death for the elder McIntyre was “stab wounds to the neck, contributing cause was blunt impact injury to the head.”
The cause of death for Dolan was "incised wound of neck and blunt impact injuries of the head," according to the coroner.
The cause of death for Julia McIntyre was “stab wound to the neck,” the coroner said.
