PERKASIE — Add Perkasie Fire Company Carnival to the local places you'll be able to see fireworks.
"It's been one of the most requested additions from the public," Tom Hosgood, the carnival committee's chairman, said.
Perkasie Borough Council approved allowing the display at its June 17 meeting, he said.
Fireworks bring in a larger crowd, he said.
"The larger the crowd, the more money we raise for the fire company," Hosgood said.
This year's carnival runs Tuesday, June 25 through Saturday, June 29 in Lenape Park on Constitution Avenue.
"We're open from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and Saturday we are open from 3 to 10 p.m.," Hosgood said.
The fireworks are planned for Friday night, with a rain date of Saturday night, he said.
Once again this year, ride all-you-want wrist bands are available for $20 Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night or 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
There are also $49 Mega-Bands for unlimited rides all week. Ride tickets are $1.25 each, 20 tickets for $20 or 70 tickets for $50.
"All the prices remain the same," Hosgood said.
The rides are again by Bartlebaugh Amusements, the same company that's been providing the midway at Perkasie for years, he said.
"They're bringing back the Ring of Fire," Hosgood said.
"It's a big loop ride that they had a few years ago that was pretty popular," he said, "so that's coming back."
The normal carnival foods will also be back — "Hamburgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes, all that good stuff" — Hosgood said.
Proceeds from the carnival, which is held each year the week before July 4, benefit the volunteer fire company.
Information is available at the Perkasie Fire Company Carnival Facebook page or the www.perkasie.bartshow.com website.
The Perkasie carnival is the first of three annual fire company carnivals in Pennridge School District. The Sellersville Firemen's Carnival runs July 9 through 13 this year. The Dublin Fireman's Carnival is July 23-27.
