SELLERSVILLE — A portion of Main Street is scheduled to be closed beginning Aug. 19 for work on the bridge over the SEPTA-owned railroad tracks near East Church Street, the company doing the work wrote in an Aug. 2 letter to Sellersville Borough.

"It is anticipated that the closure will be in place until October 2020," Loftus Construction, Inc. wrote in the letter.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation previously notified the borough that Loftus was awarded the $4,695,000 contract to rehabilitate the bridge which was originally built in 1927.

The detour route for the closed bridge is on portions of routes 152, 309 and 563.
