ROXBOROUGH >> A Roxborough man has been charged with fatally stabbing a homeless man along Ridge Avenue.
Bronson Keefe, 38, of the 600 block of Wises Mill Road, Roxborough, was charged Monday evening with homicide, robbery and possession of an instrument of crime, according to police.
The charges stem from the death of Enrico Stanziani, 48, who was stabbed to death on the 7300 block of Ridge Avenue Oct. 2, according to police.
A passerby discovered Stanziani’s body in a vacant parking lot around 12:35 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, according to media reports. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and authorities determined the cause of death was multiple stab wounds.
Stanziani, know by many in the Roxborough community as Eni, was a homeless man who had lived in a tent along Ridge Avenue for years. During that time, Stanziani had come to be a well-known and well-loved member of the community. Community members mourned Stanziani’s death by erecting a vigil, as well as sharing numerous memories on social media.
Keefe was arraigned around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, with bail being denied, according to court records.
A preliminary hearing before Judge Charles Hayden is scheduled for Oct. 31.
