To the Editor:
I’m writing expressing my concern about keeping the newly approved legislative districts in Pennsylvania and the need for an Independent Citizens Commission to take the responsibility to do this.
I was a plaintiff in the in one of the gerrymandering lawsuits brought against the Republicans last year. I was very disappointed to attend the hearing for three days and see how hard the Republicans were fighting to keep Pennsylvania gerrymandered. I testified that my voice as a voter was not heard because the Indian Valley was an appendage to the 8th Congressional District, which was all of Bucks county.
I agree with the majority of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in 2015 with Ruth Bader Ginsburg when she said, “Voters should choose their representatives and not the other way around.”
If you want to keep fair legislative districts in Pennsylvania, please vote Democratic.
