Join us for an evening with the community to benefit the William Jeanes Memorial Library.
Our second annual Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Tasting Fundraiser will be held at the William Jeanes Memorial Library on Saturday, April 6, from 5 to 7 pm. Enjoy wine tastings, savory cheese, and decadent desserts from local establishments, light music and raffles.
Our special guest is Robert Peters, CSW, WSET, wine expert, Main Line School Night instructor and Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best of Philly” state store employee from Ardmore’s famous Fine Wine & Good Spirits shop. You’ll have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with him about the locally available wines and his recommendations to suit your taste. Robert has personally chosen four wines for our tastings. Your ticket will entitle you to four tastings, plus we’ll be selling wine by the glass, should one of the tastings tempt you!
You can purchase tickets at the library in person (cash or check only) or online with a credit card through the library website, jeaneslibrary.org. Early bird tickets (through March 17) are $40 a person. From March 18 to April 5, tickets are $45 per person. No tickets will be sold at the door. You must be 21 to purchase tickets and attend this event.
We have many raffle items, which will be on display at the library through the evening of the event. There are a variety of raffle baskets all donated by local businesses, organizations and individuals, including gift certificates to local restaurants, beauty and nail salons, boutiques and specialty shops; passes to local entertainment, including Dave and Busters and the Morris Arboretum, and tickets to a Philadelphia Phillies game. We have handmade items like quilts and wood-turned utensils. From a customized Lego set to a drone to designer handbags, there is something for everyone in our baskets!
Stop by the library starting Monday, March 18, to view the complete lineup of baskets and items and purchase raffle tickets. Must be 18 to purchase; cash or check only. Raffle tickets will be on sale through the first hour of the Wine and Cheese fundraiser on the 6th. We’ll draw the winners in the second hour, but you don’t need to be present to win.
The library will close at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, to allow time for the setup. Parking in the library lot will be limited, so guests are advised to park on the side streets — Third or Marianne — or at Whitemarsh Elementary.
Proceeds from the event will go toward a wishlist of items that the library hopes to add this year — everything from new furniture to specialty items to circulate.
