ABINGTON — A Philadelphia man has been charged in connection to a robbery at a gas station in the township June 4.
Antoinne Reaves, 32, of the 2800 block of Devereaux Street in Philadelphia, faces several charges including robbery and aggravated assault in connection to the incident.
Abington police responded to a report of a robbery in progress at the LukOil gas station in the 1400 block of Old York Road at 9:38 p.m. June 4, according to information from the police department.
The store clerk, who was still at the scene, told officers that "he encountered a male who produced a handgun and forced him to reopen the store," according to police. The clerk reported that when he was inside the store, the suspect threatened to shoot him and punched and kicked him several times, police said.
The suspect took money and cigarettes before fleeing the store, according to police.
Police report they found the suspect — since identified as Reaves — about a block away from the store, where they arrested him. Police say they recovered the money, cigarettes and the gun.
Reaves was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge John D. Kessler and remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility after he was unable to post $50,000 cash bail.
