PHILADELPHIA — Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center hosted its 11th annual fundraising gala, Mission Possible 2019, April 12.
A soldout crowd of more than 330 guests gathered to raise awareness of child abuse and support the organization’s mission of achieving healing and justice for child victims.
This year’s featured guest speaker, Jennifer Fox, is the writer and producer of HBO’s Emmy-, Critic’s Choice- and Golden Globe-nominated “The Tale,” a film depicting Fox’s personal experience of child sexual abuse that examining the effects of trauma on memory. She shared her journey of self-discovery, the complexities of child abuse and a message of hope for victims.
The event also honored Dina Fink for her years of dedication, volunteer service and leadership at Mission Kids.
The event was held in April, which is also National Child Abuse Prevention Month, an annual observance to raise awareness for the importance of preventing and reporting child abuse.
