LANSDALE — Several schools across the area participated in the Montgomery County and Bucks County Regional Unified Bocce Tournament at North Penn High School.

The event marked a preliminary event leading up to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association's state competition in March, according to a tweet from Special Olympics Pennsylvania.

Special Olympics Pennsylvania will host the competition in Hershey during the PIAA Boys and Girls Basketball Championship, according to the organization's website.

There should be about six to eight students per Unified Bocce team, according to the organization's website. Team members are required to practice at least twice a week and compete in at least three matches.
