NORRISTOWN — Montgomery County recorded less than 100 new positive cases of COVID-19 during the latest seven-day period, showing a continuing daily trend of suppressing the virus, according to the latest data compiled by health officials.

The 99 new positive COVID-19 cases, reported in the county during the seven-day period June 2 to June 8, brought the county’s total number of positive cases to 59,082 since March 7, 2020, when the first two cases of the virus were identified in the county, according to the county’s COVID-19 online dashboard. Four of the new cases were individuals who resided in long-term care facilities and four new cases were reported among inmates at the county jail.
