FORT WASHINGTON — A man is wanted in connection with a robbery Monday morning at the BB&T Bank in Fort Washington, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The FBI’s Philadelphia division is searching for a man in his 30s who is approximately 6 feet tall with a large build. He was seen wearing a black jacket, khaki pants, as well as black and gray gloves.

The suspect went into the bank at 101 Fort Washington Ave. around 10:30 a.m., according to authorities. While he didn’t brandish a weapon, the suspect allegedly gave the teller a note stating that “he was armed.”

The suspect was then given cash, however, the amount was unclear, authorities said. After receiving the money, the suspect appeared to exit the bank “and is believed to have fled the area in a dark-colored sedan.”

“This subject is considered armed and dangerous,” federal authorities said in a statement.

Federal authorities are asking for the assistance of area residents. They added that “there may be a reward for information leading to an identification and arrest” of the suspect.

Anyone with information about the incident should call the Upper Dublin Township Police Department at 215-646-2101 or the FBI at 215-418-4000
