ABINGTON — An 18-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested Feb. 6 and charged with the indecent assault of a child whose family knew him, according to Abington Township police.
Joseph Cornelius Richardson was charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of a child, indecent assault of a child under 13, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and related charges.
The child reported that in July of 2019 Richardson sexually assaulted her in her Abington home, police said. Following an investigation, a warrant was issued for Richardson’s arrest.
He was arraigned before District Judge Elizabeth McHugh Casey and taken to Montgomery County Prison on $50,000 cash bail and was later released on bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 19 before District Judge Juanita Price.
