FRANCONIA — Indivisible Hope is holding a candidate forum for local Democratic party candidates 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 at Peter Becker Community, 815 Maplewood Drive, Harleysville.

Candidates scheduled to be taking part include Montgomery County Commissioners candidates Dr. Valerie Arkoosh and Ken Lawrence; Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds candidate Jeanne Sorg; Montgomery County Treasurer candidate Jason Salus; Montgomery County Register of Wills candidate D. Bruce Hanes; Lower Salford Township Board of Supervisors candidates Kevin Shelly and Bruce Rhoades; Telford Borough Council candidate Nicole Spiese; and Souderton Area School Board candidate Bennett Brigaman.

Only Democratic party candidates were invited to speak at the forum because the Pennsylvania Republican Party's endorsement of Donald Trump's re-election "is fundamentally against our mission and vision statement," Indivisible Hope said.

Ways the group will attempt to meet its vision of providing equal opportunity for all citizens include conducting meetings and forums to educate the electorate in and around Harleysville on topics important to the legislative process, seek out ways to increase voter turnout and provide a forum for political candidates that share values consistent with the mission and vision statements, the mission and vision statement said.
