For more than 25 consecutive years local nonprofit organization Souderton-Telford Business and Professional Women have been working together to support those in need during very difficult times.
This year the members of Souderton-Telford BPW donated 20 full baskets that will be given to women who are resettling after leaving challenging situations and completing the transitioning program with Keystone Opportunity Center, the BPW said in a release.
Throughout each year S-T BPW members bring a few personal care items to their monthly meetings. By May the Women Helping Women committee comes together to compile the baskets that will be given to the families that are moving on to the next, safer stage of their life.
“These women and their children are starting with nothing. If we can give them the essentials like toilet paper, shower curtains, cleaning supplies and toothbrushes to help them get going then we’ve made a positive contribution to their peace of mind,” said WHW chairperson Dana Vesey.
“Though the receiving organization has shifted some over the years, the mission has remained the same,” the release said. “The Women Helping Women initiative has always been a staple activity that sits right at the heart of our local BPW chapter."
Monthly meetings occur the 4th Monday evening of the months September through June at The Broad Street Grind.
