Rematches with Final Four foes Michigan and Kansas highlight the 2018-19 Villanova men’s basketball non-conference schedule.
The Wildcats defeated the Jayhawks, 95-79, in the semifinals and then knocked off the Wolverines, 79-62, to claim their second national title in three years and third overall.
Villanova hosts Michigan Nov. 14 as part of the Gavitt Games and visits Kansas Dec. 15 in the first of a home-and-home series with the Jayhawks.
The Wildcats open the season against Morgan State on Nov. 6, and then entertain Quinnipiac, coached by former Villanova assistant Baker Dunleavy Nov. 10, before taking on Michigan.
Villanova takes on Furman at home on Nov. 17 in the preliminary round of the Advocare Invitational, and then head to Orlando for the rest of the tournament where it will play Canisius (Nov. 22) and either Memphis or Oklahoma State (Nov. 23), before closing out the tournament Nov. 25 against an opponent to be determined.
The non-conference schedule includes the traditional Big 5 games against La Salle (Dec. 1 at the Palestra), home games against Temple (Dec. 5) and Saint Joseph’s (Dec. 8), and at Penn (Dec. 11).
The Wildcats travel to New York to take on former Big East rival Connecticut on Saturday, Dec. 22 at Madison Square Garden.
After a year of playing most of its home games at the Wells Fargo Center, the Wildcats will be back on campus to play in the renovated Finneran Pavilion. They will also play selected games at the Wells Fargo Center.
The venue sites and times for the home games, as well as the times for all games will be announced when the full schedule is released after Labor Day.
