SPRINGFIELD — The Oreland Volunteer Fire Company has received a $1,920 donation from the David G. Kelble Jr. Memorial Foundation.

The donation will be used to buy the fire company a new Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) to use in cases of sudden cardiac arrest.

David’s brother, Jim, is a member of the Oreland and Fort Washington fire companies. David was a member of the Weldon and Fort Washington fire companies.

David was killed in a work-related accident six years ago. His parents, Dave and Debbie, created the foundation earlier this year in his memory and to support the first responder community. This is the foundations' first donation.

The donation was accompanied by a plaque honoring the memory of John L. “Jack” Asher, a firefighter in Montgomery County for 35 years.
