To the Editor:
U.S. Rep. Madeline Dean in her guest column (“President Trump’s national address sullied the Oval Office,” Jan. 20) attacks President Trump for wanting to secure the border by building a wall. She writes the Oval Office is the closest thing we have in our democracy to sacred space. She goes down the line of presidents who have spoke to us from the Oval Office, conveniently omitting President Clinton, who disgraced that sacred space by engaging in sex with an intern.
On the 46th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, I would remind Mrs. Dean that we can never make America great again unless we cease killing our children in abortion clinics. When most defenseless humans are not protected, then we lack compassion and decency — virtues that Mrs. Dean reports missing in our present culture.
